Being in the house painting business for 20 years has allowed us to work with some of the best paint manufacturers. Over the years we have narrowed it down to two of our favorites. They offer rich colors, a verity of sheens and in our opinion are just the best to work with. Both have chosen their color of the year for 2020, check them out.
The Sherwin-Williams 2020 color of the year is finally here—The paint company announced its pick of Naval SW 6244, a rich shade of blue that feels like a crisp take on the timeless navy color we know and love. Better Home and Gardens interviewed Sue Wadden, director of color marketing for Sherwin-Williams, to find out more about the selection. She said they’ve been seeing a lot of deep, moody colors lately, so the company wanted to choose something bold—but it also had to fit with art deco elements like marbles and metallics that are having a major moment right now. Enter Naval.
Benjamin Moore’s First Light 2102-70 is a soft shade of pink that continues the trend of rosy hues featured as 2020 colors of the year. The color reflects “a shift in mindset from the material to satisfying the core needs in life: community, comfort, security, self-expression, authenticity, and ultimately, optimism,” says Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore director of color marketing and development, in a news release picked up by Better Homes and Gardens. The pastel pink joins a list of nine other colors to round out Benjamin Moore’s Color Trends 2020 palette, including: White Heron, Crystalline, Windmill Wings, Buxton Blue, Golden Straw, Thunder, Cushing Green, Oxford Gray, and Blue Danube.
